Area veterans' organizations have chosen representatives to place flowers at the monument at Ashland Cemetery during the Memorial Day service on May 29. They also will ride in the parade, which will begin at 10 a.m. that day.

Robert "Bob" and Mary Wints celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on May 14, 2017. The former Mary Scott married Robert Wints on May 14, 1942, at Lutheran Chapel in Ashland. The Rev. Smith performed the ceremony.
Twenty-seven-year-old Megan Dean of Ashland knew something wasn't right the morning of March 28, but "stroke" never crossed her mind. It was, however, a top concern of the Emergency Department staff at University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.
